TCS Tubeless-Ready

TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless system. These tires feature a TCS tubeless-ready casing, which nearly eliminates flats and allows lower tire pressures to improve traction and comfort over a traditional tube-type tire.

Puncture Protection

SG2 sidewall protection and a 60tpi casing offer durability without the added weight and stiffness of a Tough tire—available in Fast Rolling (1024g) or High Grip (998g) options.

TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is our industry-leading tubeless rim/tire system designed to international ETRTO and ISO standards.

SG2 is our puncture protection technology that provides bead-to-bead coverage to ensure both the tread and sidewall are protected from slashes and punctures. The nylon fibers within SG2 feature a uniquely flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibers. Improving the fiber-to-rubber ratio increases puncture resistance, reduces weight and improves the overall liveliness of a tire. While SG2 is primarily a puncture protection layer, the tightly woven fibers also improve air retention to better maintain pressure between rides.

Three compounds provide optimal levels of traction, support and durability. Different durometers of base rubber, center knobs and soft knobs allow us to fine-tune performance and increase rider confidence.

TCS Light tires feature a single-ply casing whereas TCS Tough tires are dual-ply. XC and trail riders often choose TCS Light tires for their minimal weights while enduro, gravity and e-bike riders prefer TCS Tough for the additional durability and cornering support. Some riders opt for TCS Light on the front where weight is more noticeable and TCS Tough on the rear where a burlier tire is beneficial. Most of our TCS Light mountain tires feature SG2 technology, which provides a protective nylon insert spanning the entire sidewall to provide extra puncture protection without the weight of a dual-ply casing.

Fast Rolling tires feature a fast and efficient centerline (shown in orange) compound, paired with a softer, but still efficient, compound for the side knobs (purple). Fast Rolling tires prioritize speed and efficiency above all else.

High Grip tires feature noticeably softer centerline (yellow) and side knob compounds (green) to increase grip and confidence. High Grip tires prioritize traction in all conditions.

We calculate pressure recommendations based on an average rider weight of 160-180 lbs and suggest increasing our minimum recommended pressure on WTB.com by 2-3psi for every additional 10 lbs of rider weight. Never exceed the maximum tire pressure marked on a tire.
