Trailblazer

Rode 3000 km of mix surface fully loaded for one month on these and they were great! Really fast rolling on sealed road then all the mtb knob you need for bikepacking appropriate mtb trails. Super cushy ride helped with long days on the saddle. Zero flats setup tubeless on sun duroc 30 rims.

These are a great option for anyone wanting to convert their 29er to B+.

I dont know where the reviewers who claim the durability is low are riding, but I run the it on my hardtail out here in Arizona over tons of stuff a hardtail shouldn't go over, and I simply cant seem to kill it! Ive gone through 2 maxxis tires in the last few months on my other full squish bike on the same trails, but the trailblazer with no rear sus to help it keeps comin' back for more over some seriously sharp rocky terrain!

The only reason I won't give it a 5 star is the tread pattern. The side knobs are more or less non-existent. This tire works great as a rear, but there is no way I would put it up front.

Also, don't go above a 45mm internal width rim with these, because the tread will almost completely flatten out. the Scraper 45i rims allow for just enough bulging to give it a bit of circular rolling, but these would have a better rounded profile on a 35mm internal width rim IMO.

A future suggestion for WTB developers: remove that solid center ridge, and replace with some better side knobs; give it a bit less flat of a contact surface; and shave 100 grams or so off the overall weight. Fix those issues and you will be a Bontrager Chupacabra (another reigning champ of the 29 to B+ conversion realm, although WAY more expensive than WTB rubber) killer for sure and worth all 5 stars!

Converted my 29er to a plus bike on Easton Arcs - these tires have been all over the midwest in wet roots, downhill courses, flow, sand, mud... I have not had any issues and I am 200 plus rider. While not ideal on everything - I have found these are fast rolling and at lower pressure they hook up enough to get you through. There is not a ton of treads when you lean in but I learned to find the sweet spot. Air pressure makes a lot difference - I had to really experiment to find the ideal pressure for each day.

Stuck this on the back of my 29er hard tail to make a mullet Frankenstein (business at the front, party at the rear!). Really nice to ride, loads of grip on hardback and loam and good enough in mud. Nice bit of softness that works well on the hard tail, but went a bit too soft on outing number 3 when a large tear appeared in the sidewall!
I'm not the smoothest rider in the world, but it was certainly no megavalanche stages that I was riding, for a tyre to be thrown in the bin after 3 rides isn't really ideal.

Please make a thicker casing version that will last me at least a whole season of riding!

These tires leaked Stan's out the sidewalls. WTB was kind enough to warranty them. The next set both tore on the sidewall. I remounted the originals and they had distorted out of shape and wobble on the rim. 3 out of 4 tires have torn sidewalls. These would be fine if you don't mind wiping off the Stans daily and riding on smooth rock free trails.
