Behind the Scenes with Johannes Huseby WTB's Director of Global OEM Sales & Product Vision
Nicknames: Johs, Toast, Juice
If you’ve ever wondered who helps steer the ship behind WTB’s success or who’s keeping a sharp eye on global trends while testing tires on all kinds of terrain—it’s probably Johs. Huseby.

With 8 years at WTB and decades in the cycling industry, Johs brings a unique blend of rider insight, product vision, and deep industry experience. As the Director of Global OEM Sales and Product Vision, he’s played a pivotal role in evolving WTB’s saddle line, introducing cleaner, modern Fusion Form construction without compromising the ride feel that riders have trusted for years.
“Fusion Form saddles gave us a way to modernize the look while keeping the same great shape people already loved,” says Johs. It’s that balance of innovation and intuition that defines his approach to product.

WTB’s Secret Sauce? Small Team, Big Trust
WTB’s not your average bike brand. “We’re a small, nimble crew,” says Johannes. “We listen, we react quickly, and we genuinely care. I’ve never worked with a group that feels more like a family—one minute we’re testing tire volume on the dirt, the next we’re walking the streets of Mill Valley in the dark looking for my wallet. (Yes, really.)”
That now-infamous lost wallet episode—complete with a flashlight-lit search party of WTB coworkers—is peak Johs. and peak WTB: all-in, all heart. A Day in the Life
“No day is the same,” he says. “I wear a lot of hats, which I love. I get to travel, meet with suppliers and customers, test products, and help shape what WTB brings to market.”
What’s Next in Tires? Bigger, Bolder Gravel
Ask Johs. about trends and he lights up: “I’m excited about bigger gravel tires—something that rolls fast but smooths out rough terrain. They make long rides way more comfortable and fun. We ride what we sell, and it shows.”

Johs’ go-to bike?
A gravel rig that’s just as happy hammering Colorado gravel as it is racing in Taiwan. The Macro tire is his go-to tire of choice, “Best XC tire I’ve ridden—fast rolling with surprising grip and volume.” As for trail snacks? His wife’s chocolate chip cookies take the crown.

And when he’s not riding?
You’ll likely find him curled up with Ranger, his ultra-affectionate pup who prefers to nap around Johannes’ neck like a very loyal scarf.
