Introduced back in 2013, the Vigilante 2.3 has remained synonymous with aggressive trail and enduro riding. Prominent lugs dig into any terrain, wet or dry, and provide support at high speeds. Ample spacing between knobs allows it to evacuate the tread while biting into loose, chunky trails. The Vigilante grips at lean angles like nobody’s business and is the tire of choice for trail and enduro riders who need a tire that won’t let them down when it matters most. Square-lugged knobs punch into wet or dry terrain to provide unwavering traction while their consistent spacing provides predictable stability and confidence at high speeds.

Reinforced Side Knobs

Tall side knobs are supported by an elevated base that prevents the knobs from folding under shamelessly forceful cornering forces. Side knobs feature perpendicular siping to increase braking traction while cornering.

Front-Focused Design

Everything about the Vigilante was designed to improve cornering traction as a front tire. Aggressive outer knobs punch into corners while directional siping grapples with rocks and roots in both wet and dry conditions. We suggest pairing the Vigilante 2.3 with a Trail Boss 2.25 on the rear.

TCS Tubeless-Ready

Most Vigilante 2.3 tires feature a TCS tubeless-ready casing. TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless system. Tires that feature a TCS tubeless-ready casing nearly eliminate flats and allow lower tire pressures, which improve traction and comfort over a traditional tube-type tire.

We calculate pressure recommendations based on an average rider weight of 160-180 lbs and suggest increasing our minimum recommended pressure on WTB.com by 2-3psi for every additional 10 lbs of rider weight. Technology

TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is our industry-leading tubeless rim/tire system designed to international ETRTO and ISO standards.

Three compounds provide optimal levels of traction, support and durability. Different durometers of base rubber, center knobs and soft knobs allow us to fine-tune performance and increase rider confidence.

One layer of supple, gram-conscious casing conforms to the terrain to provide maximum performance, exceptional reliability and low rotational weight.

Two full layers of casing wrap the tire from bead to bead and provide the ultimate level of puncture protection and sidewall support.

Specifically formulated to prioritize rolling efficiency while also providing dependable traction and lasting durability.

E25 e-bike tires are constructed using additional materials to not only strengthen the tire and prevent punctures, but also to increase support under heavy loads.

Available with SG2, which defends all surfaces of a tire by providing an uninterrupted layer of nylon puncture protection spanning from one bead to the other.

Dual DNA Compound

Dual DNA is the perfect mix of efficiency, traction, and durability. The centerline tread features a firmer rubber compound that boasts faster rolling and increased durability, while the side knobs are composed of softer, slower-rebounding rubber that improves control and grip. In other words...speed where you want it and traction where you need it.

TCS Light or TCS Tough?

TCS Light tires feature a single-ply casing whereas TCS Tough tires are dual-ply. XC and trail riders often choose TCS Light tires for their minimal weights while enduro, gravity and e-bike riders prefer TCS Tough for the additional durability and cornering support. Some riders opt for TCS Light on the front where weight is more noticeable and TCS Tough on the rear where a burlier tire is beneficial. Most of our TCS Light mountain tires feature Slash Guard technology, which provides a protective nylon insert spanning the entire sidewall to provide extra puncture protection without the weight of a dual ply casing.

SG2 Puncture Protection

TCS Light single-ply mountain tires are available with SG2 puncture protection. SG2 is a lightweight nylon layer that protects all areas of the tire with an additional level of defense against punctures and pinch flats. Bead-to-bead SG2 also improves sidewall stability and overall tire support without the additional weight of a Tough (dual-ply) casing.

Flat nylon fibers within SG2 reduce the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibers compared to traditional protection layers with round fibers. The increased fiber-to-rubber ratio boosts puncture resistance while reducing weight and improving suppleness compared to our Tough casings. Third-party lab testing showed bead-to-bead SG2 provides 80% more sidewall protection than traditional single-ply tires without SG2.
