Product description
Proterra Light i27 are everyday wheels for the everyday trail bike. Your bike that does all deserves a wheel that'll do the same. The 27mm inner rim width strikes a happy medium on the width spectrum and allows it to provide optimal air volume and casing profile on tires in the 2.3-2.5" range. The open-cavity rim profile eliminates weight where it isn't needed while also allowing for a smoother ride. The responsive 6-pawl freehub provides 5 degrees of engagement and allows you to ratchet through techy climbs while also providing instant power as you pedal out of corners. Looking to go wide on your downcountry build? Even XC is going bigger.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wider rims will cause a tire to also have a wider width, with more air volume within the tire and a flatter tire tread profile than designed for. As a general rule of thumb, a 2mm increase or decrease of inner rim width will result in a tire section width increase or decrease of 1mm. For example, our Nano 40 tire has a tire section width of 40mm on a 21mm inner rim width, however it will have a tire section width of 41mm on a 23mm inner rim width.
All WTB alloy rims and wheels are best paired with a 34mm valve stem.
