Breakout

I've been riding this tire in a 2.5 TCS Tough High Grip on the rear for a year, with a Convict 2.5 up front. I liked it so much I just ordered a pair of BO in 2.5 and 2.3 TCS Tough High Grip to set it front and rear. Both have been put in to an i25 rims.

What I found is that 2.5 on the front and rear works incredibly good on dry conditions, doesn't matter if it's hard or loose terrain, it just dwells to the bottom of the track to keep your line rolling. Cornering is great, no problems at all here, it is smooth and sensation of grip is always there. Also, its a resistent tire against flats, I usually ride a rootty rocky terrain, I got not even closer to pinch flat or to gut my tire. The 2.3 does exactly the same on the rear, it's a bit faster though, and it does not take that much effort to roll it up hill. Those are my favourites for a those clean dry days, which i what I usually get where I ride.

BUT! And that is a big one... don't even dare to try those ones on wet days. They have some grip on wet roots and stones. The main problem here is that these tires do get packed up quite easy*, even in light mud conditions, making them a muddy slippery donut that makes anything but easy to keep your line.

*The 2.5 can stand a bit more mud than the 2.3, which gets easily packed up making the rear to do funny things when it should not!

Anyway, I really love them for those days they fit in.

I love this tire. The 2.5 gives lots of grip and corners amazingly. You never feel like you are going to lose the edge. Will continue to buy this tire in the future

I'm loving these tires on my Evil Wreckoning. These tires cover a wide trail spectrum, predictable grip pattern and is an excellent all rounder: wet, muddy, rooty, dry no problem. Rolling resistance is good too.

Please make the 29er version in 2.5!

I don't usually write a review but I am so impressed with these tyres that I wanted to share my experience. I only ever used Maxxis tyres before but I have had the front wash out on me a few times when the trails become hard packed (not very often in the Wales), I was running Minion DHF WT 2.5 front and Minion DHR 2 WT 2.4 rear on WTB i35 rims. Swapping them over to WTB Breakout 2.5 front and Trail Boss 2.5 rear (both tough/fast rolling) transformed the bike. Pedalling up was quieter and smoother and they gripped like glue on the downs, no more waiting for the front to let go. The back end is nice and loose but completely in control and the front just digs in and holds a line relentlessly. These tyres totally inspire confidence to absolutely pin it and not worry about grip in the (rare) dry conditions of Cwmcarn....Thank you WTB!

Purchased the fast/light combo for the Bronson. Running it as a front tire. Tires rolls fast for its size. It's a 2.3 and it's big. Had a very supple ride through the rough. Grip is excellent in everything but mud. Works really well on loose hardpack, loam, sand. Way more stable than the minion dhf in those conditions.
