WTB carbon components are designed to provide a perfect blend of stiffness and compliance while also proving to be nearly indestructible.
Additional carbon at each spoke bed improves overall rim strength and durability while also minimizing weight in areas where less strength, and therefore material, is needed.
Spoke holes are drilled at an angle to match the natural spoke path between a rim and hub. Eliminates binding and lateral loading of the nipples to increase wheel durability.
Asymmetrically offset spoke holes create a stronger wheel by placing the holes more in line with the center of the hub and more evenly distributing spoke tension.
Sloped rim valley allows the bead of the tire to easily and smoothly move into place during installation and inflation.
Installed between the rim and tubeless tape to prevent tape from sagging at each spoke hole and make tire inflation easier while also preventing puncture from a broken spoke.

Wider rims will cause a tire to also have a wider width, with more air volume within the tire and a flatter tire tread profile than designed for. As a general rule of thumb, a 2mm increase or decrease of inner rim width will result in a tire section width increase or decrease of 1mm. For example, our Nano 40 tire has a tire section width of 40mm on a 21mm inner rim width, however it will have a tire section width of 41mm on a 23mm inner rim width.

CZR i23 rims feature a hooked bead because doing so provides a more dependable connection between the tire and rim when running a tire at the higher air pressures that are common with adventure road and gravel riding. CZR i30 rims feature a hookless bead because the smooth bead surface allows for more material to be used in an area when strength is incredibly important. Both CZR i23 and CZR i30 rims are compatible with any tires that comply with ETRTO standards.
Asymmetrical rims feature a "short" and "long" side. It is helpful to always mount both sides of the tire onto the rim on the "short side" of the rim. The short side of the rim provides the shortest distance between the rim leg/bead and the valley of the rim. Once the first tire bead is completely on the rim, it can be pulled over the rubber portion of the valve and positioned at the deepest part of the rim valley. The other side of the tire can then be installed onto the rim with the least amount of resistance.
