This just in from Jérôme Clementz who has been shredding Sicily on WTB Bronson TCS tires: “It was the first time we went in Sicily and we discover an all year MTB destination. Lots of differents ground, technical and fast tracks. Landscape are amazing and local lifestyle so typical. It’s a good point to make specific training early in the year. We really need to come back to discover more, especially to ride from the top of Etna Volcano”.
We have a winner! No, its not Mark Weir nor Jason Moeschler. No, it is not in the Super D or XC race category. I’m talking about commuting. That’s right, the ride to work. WTB’s Sales and Marketing Director Gary Gleason won the QBP (Quality Bicycle Products) 2010 Espresso Fund Commuter of the Year Award (Vendor)!
We’re not sure if this is allowed in the rulebook of commuting or not, but Lucy wins too! Lucy, originally from Guatemala, is a German Shepherd/Daschund mix who gets free rides via the dog trailer. The two commute 12 miles each way from Fairfax to Mill Valley, rain or shine.

From the Sierra Nevadas to the French Alps and a few mountains in between, Team WTB rides again…
Just two days off the podium in Downieville, Mark Weir and Jason Moeschler packed up their bikes for a three-week, three-country tour that would eventually lead them to some of the most aggressive riding around, otherwise known as the French Enduro racing series. Our story begins in London, where Moeschler and Weir found themselves in the good hands of our WTB Europe team as well as our UK distributor (Hotlines). They were promptly let loose in the muddy hills of south Whales (Monmouth), where they rode in the muddy, wet conditions of the trail center followed by the rugged terrain of the English countryside near Todmorden.
Traveling light was imperative, and with little-to-no time to pack, the guys landed with only one set of wheels each, and for Weir it was the same 1,460-gram, tubeless ready “gently loved” Stryker wheel set he won the Ashland Super D and the Downieville DH on.
Using his hotel room and the lobby as a makeshift workshop, Moeschler built his Nomad up with the Laser TCS All Mountain wheel set with WeirWolf 2.1 TCS tires. Weir put Wolverine 2.2 All Mountain TCS tires on his Nomad and called it good. A few epic rides later, the guys got the bikes “properly” muddied but enjoyed the good spirit of the rides and people they rode with. Thanks to the good people at Singletrack, MBR, MBUK and Dirt for their hospitality and mean coffee…(especially you Chipps!)

It was another great year for Team WTB at the Ashland Spring Thaw. They ate deer, drank tasty Lithia water and soaked in icy creeks. Whatever they ate, drank or just plain wallowed in, paid off when it came time to punch in on race day!
Ten feet or ten miles, whatever it takes.
On May 13th — bike to work day — Take some time to appreciate the natural world around you. Whether it’s the path through the park or some ripping single-track, make sure to seek out some dirt on your way to work.

We are proud to announce that WTB-sponsored rider Steve Peat won the 2009 Downhill World Championships in Canberra, Australia.
Although the 36-year-old rider from Sheffield, England has won more World Cup races than any downhiller in history (17, in total), the World Championships has always eluded him. That finally changed last Sunday, when he beat his Santa Cruz Syndicate teammate Greg Minnaar by .05 seconds to take the gold. Mick Hannah took the third spot and WTB/Subaru rider Fabien Barel came in fourth.
Peat’s saddle of choice is WTB’s Rocket V SLT in white/red. Minaar’s saddle of choice is the WTB Shadow V SLT and Barel prefers the WTB Silverado.
